Alejandra is a plastic artist born in Montevideo, Uruguay. Although she primarily works whith digital mediums and with paintings, her artistic career’s core is experimentation. That is why she regularly dips her toes in various techniques, among which embroidery, and most reacently ceramics stand out.

Alejandra’s themes are always related to fantasy, magic and mysticism, from a femenine pespective but powerful and sometimes also dark.

In 2022 her path crossed with that of 3 other women artists from different parts of Latin América who reside in Uruguay, and that is how the Oníricas collective came to be. The objective of the group being to revalue female perspectives in Art, and the spirit of collaboration to strengthen collectively.

I seek that my art, whatever technique in which is developed, makes the viewer feel immersed in the work and in the story it tells. I try to make my work open to interpretation, because even if I believe that the artist bares a bit of his soul when he creates, I also believe that art sometimes works as a mirror for the conciousness of the viewer. And I am confident this adds to the value of the work.
